Mailshake Pricing and Mailshake Cost per User by Plan

Mailshake is one of the few cold email tools that still bills by the user. Every number on this page comes from Mailshake's own pricing page, including the sending caps, the data credits and the two add-ons that most summaries leave out.

How much does Mailshake cost per month?

Mailshake costs $29 per user per month on Starter, $49 on Email Outreach and $99 on Sales Engagement when you pay month to month. Yearly billing brings those to $25, $45 and $85 per user per month. A fourth plan, Agency, includes everything in Sales Engagement plus unlimited email addresses and is priced by the sales team.

The yearly discount is uneven, which matters if you are deciding whether to commit. Starter drops about 14 percent, Sales Engagement about 14 percent, and Email Outreach, the plan Mailshake marks as most popular, only about 8 percent ($4 a user a month). On a five-person team that is $20 a month saved on Email Outreach against $70 a month on Sales Engagement.

Pages that rank for Mailshake pricing still quote $39, $59 and $99 tiers, or a $59 Email Outreach plan. The middle plan is $49 on the live page today, and the Starter plan is $29 with a 1,500 send cap that most summaries never mention.

What you get on each Mailshake plan

Starter is a single-sender plan. It covers one email address, 1,500 sends a month, automated sequences, A/B testing and the SHAKESpeare AI writer. At three emails per prospect, 1,500 sends reach about 500 new people a month, so it fits a founder testing a market, not a rep with a quota.

Email Outreach is the working plan for most email-only teams. Sends become unlimited, each user gets two email addresses with rotation between them, and you get advanced scheduling and throttling, a unified inbox, a prospects view, the browser extension, template management, native Salesforce, Pipedrive and HubSpot sync, and 1,000+ integrations through Zapier.

Sales Engagement adds the phone. Each user gets 10 email addresses, five phone numbers, a power dialer with unlimited minutes to North American numbers, phone scripts, lead temperature scoring, account level views, custom tasks, a one to one onboarding call and 2,500 data finder credits instead of 50.

Is Mailshake priced per user or per mailbox?

Per user. Mailshake's own FAQ says billing is based on how many users your team buys, and the plan cards set how many email addresses each paid user can connect: one on Starter, two on Email Outreach and ten on Sales Engagement. If you need more sending addresses than that, you buy more users, even if the same person runs them all.

That is the single biggest difference from Smartlead, Instantly and Woodpecker, which let you connect unlimited mailboxes on their entry plans. A founder who wants to send from six inboxes to protect deliverability pays for three Email Outreach users on Mailshake ($147 a month), against one Instantly Growth plan at $47 or Woodpecker at $35 for 500 contacted prospects.

Mailshake does sell ready-to-use mailboxes as an add-on at $12 a month ($11 yearly), which it rotates automatically if one runs into trouble. The add-on supplies addresses; it does not change how many each user can send from on the plan.

What does Mailshake cost for a team of five?

Five reps on Email Outreach cost $245 a month on monthly billing, or $225 a month ($2,700 a year) on yearly billing. Five reps on Sales Engagement cost $495 a month, or $425 a month ($5,100 a year) yearly. Those are the honest numbers to put in a budget, before mailboxes and domains.

For comparison, the flat-priced tools do not grow with headcount. Lemlist's Email plan covers unlimited users for $89 a month at 100,000 emails, Smartlead Pro is $94 a month for 90,000 sends, and Instantly Hypergrowth is $97 for 125,000 emails. An email-only team of five pays roughly two and a half times as much on Mailshake as on any of those three. Mailshake earns the gap only if the team will use the dialer on Sales Engagement, because that replaces a separate calling tool.

1 user, Starter: $29 monthly, $300 a year

3 users, Email Outreach: $147 monthly, $1,620 a year

5 users, Email Outreach: $245 monthly, $2,700 a year

5 users, Sales Engagement: $495 monthly, $5,100 a year

10 users, Sales Engagement: $990 monthly, $10,200 a year

Does Mailshake have a free trial?

No. Mailshake's pricing FAQ says it collects payment up front and offers concierge onboarding, deliverability training and support resources instead of a trial. You can cancel before the renewal date, and plan changes in the middle of a cycle are prorated, so you either get a credit or a pending charge.

That makes the first month a real purchase rather than a test. If you want to judge output before paying, compare the copy Mailshake's AI writer produces with a researched draft for the same prospect first. The composer at the top of this page writes one for free.

What do Mailshake add-ons cost?

Two add-ons are listed with prices. Data Finder, which searches for decision makers by role, location or company, costs $19 a month ($17 yearly). Ready-to-use mailboxes cost $12 a month ($11 yearly). The plan allowance of data credits is 50 on Starter and Email Outreach and 2,500 on Sales Engagement, so a team that needs contact data and does not want the dialer will usually add Data Finder rather than upgrade.

Not listed with a price: domains, extra dialer numbers beyond five, and anything on the Agency plan. Budget domains and mailbox seats separately; our cold email infrastructure cost page prices that layer, and it often costs more than the sending tool for a small team.

Data Finder: $19 a month, $17 yearly

Ready-to-use mailboxes: $12 a month, $11 yearly

Warmup and verification: included and unlimited on every plan

Mailshake pricing for agencies

Mailshake publishes no agency price. The Agency plan, with unlimited email addresses on top of Sales Engagement, is quoted by sales. Mailshake's recommended setup for agencies is different from most tools: each client creates and pays for its own team and adds the agency as a user, so the client is the billed party and the agency only pays if it runs its own team.

That keeps the agency's own bill near zero, but it moves the full per-user cost onto each client. Agencies that want one invoice for many clients usually compare Smartlead, which lists client workspaces at $29 a month each from Pro, and Woodpecker, which lists an agency panel at $27 per active client.

Is Mailshake worth the price?

For a small team that wants email and calling in one place with native CRM sync, Sales Engagement at $85 to $99 a user is fair, because the unlimited North American dialer minutes replace a separate phone tool. For an email-only team, the per-user model is the expensive way to buy sending. Smartlead, Instantly, Woodpecker and Lemlist's Email plan all deliver more volume per dollar once you pass two or three senders; our Smartlead pricing, Instantly pricing and Woodpecker pricing pages carry those ladders, and Mailshake alternatives compares the tools feature by feature.

What the Mailshake price does not do for you

Mailshake sends, rotates and dials. Its AI writer drafts copy from a prompt and personalization comes from the fields in your list, so a campaign to 500 people is still 500 versions of one template. Nothing on any plan reads each prospect's company before writing the opener.

ColdOutreach prices that research instead of the seat. Starter is $49 a month, or $24 a month billed yearly, for 1,000 researched emails: upload a CSV, it reads each company's site and public signals, writes a first line and angle for that person, and runs a follow-up sequence that stops on reply. Growth is $99 a month ($49 yearly) for 5,000 emails and three seats. Try the composer at the top of this page on one real prospect, or see every plan on our pricing page.

How many emails can I send with Mailshake?

Is there a Mailshake alternative that researches each prospect?
