In one answer  Woodpecker pricing starts at $35 a month for 500 contacted prospects, or $280 a year on annual billing (about $23 a month). Price scales with the number of prospects you contact each month: 2,000 cost $67, 4,000 cost $99, 10,000 cost $188 and 20,000 cost $329, so the rate falls from $7.00 per 100 prospects at the entry tier to about $1.03 per 100 at one million. Every plan includes unlimited email accounts, unlimited team members, free warmup and free catch-all verification, and lets you send up to 16 emails per contacted prospect. LinkedIn automation ($29 per account), integrations and API ($20 flat) and the agency panel ($27 per client) cost extra. Read at woodpecker.co on October 7, 2026.

How much does Woodpecker cost in 2026?

Woodpecker costs $35 a month at its smallest tier, which covers 500 contacted prospects. There is no Starter, Pro or Business plan anymore: you choose a monthly volume of contacted prospects and the price follows. A team contacting 2,000 new people a month pays $67, a team at 4,000 pays $99, and a team at 10,000 pays $188. The list runs to 1,000,000 prospects at $10,312 a month, with a flat Unlimited plan above it.

Annual billing is the bigger lever. Woodpecker bills a year at roughly eight times the monthly price, which is a saving of about a third. The 500 tier is $280 a year (about $23.33 a month), the 2,000 tier $536 (about $44.67 a month), the 10,000 tier $1,504 (about $125.33 a month) and the 20,000 tier $2,632 (about $219.33 a month). Prices are in US dollars and exclude sales tax.

Most pages that rank for Woodpecker pricing still list the older ladder of $29 for 500, $49 for 1,000 and $69 for 2,000 prospects, or summarize the whole thing as "$7 per 100 prospects". The second one is the more misleading of the two, because $7 per 100 is only the entry rate. It falls to $3.35 at 2,000 prospects and under $2 from 8,000.

What counts as a contacted prospect in Woodpecker?

A contacted prospect is a person who receives at least one email from you in a given month, counted once per campaign. Sending a four-step sequence to one person in one campaign counts as one. Adding that same person to a second campaign counts as two, and adding them to five campaigns counts as five. That rule is the single most important thing to understand before you pick a tier.

Teams that split one audience into several campaigns, for example one campaign per persona or one per offer, pay for the same people more than once. If your playbook is "run the main sequence, then put non-responders into a second campaign next month", budget for both. A list of 2,000 people worked through two campaigns needs the 4,000 tier at $99, not the 2,000 tier at $67.

When you hit the limit, Woodpecker stops sending to new prospects until your billing date or until you upgrade. It does not upgrade you automatically, so nobody gets a surprise invoice, but a campaign can stall mid-month. Follow-ups to people already contacted keep going.

Woodpecker email pricing per 100 prospects and per email

Woodpecker lets you send up to 16 emails per contacted prospect each month, so the 500 tier allows 8,000 emails and the 10,000 tier allows 160,000. Very few teams send 16 emails to anyone. A realistic three or four step sequence uses a quarter of the allowance, so for cold email the binding limit is almost always the prospect count, not the email count.

Dividing the price by the volume shows how steep the discount is. On monthly billing the rate is $7.00 per 100 prospects at 500, $3.35 at 2,000, $2.48 at 4,000, $1.99 at 8,000, $1.88 at 10,000, $1.65 at 20,000, $1.47 at 40,000 and $1.35 at 100,000. On annual billing the 500 tier works out to about $4.67 per 100.

At four emails per prospect, the 10,000 tier on annual billing comes to about $125 a month for 40,000 emails, or roughly $3.13 per thousand emails. That is competitive with the cheapest flat-rate senders, and it gets better above 20,000 prospects.

Monthly: 8,000 prospects $159, 15,000 $262, 25,000 $395, 30,000 $459, 40,000 $587, 60,000 $876

Monthly: 80,000 prospects $1,144, 100,000 $1,354, 150,000 $1,895, 200,000 $2,433, 300,000 $3,383

Monthly: 400,000 prospects $4,334, 600,000 $6,374, 800,000 $8,353, 1,000,000 $10,312

Unlimited plan: $9,999 a month or $79,992 a year, unlimited sending and warmups

The Unlimited plan costs less than the 1,000,000 tier

One detail on Woodpecker's own price list that no breakdown we found mentions: the flat Unlimited plan is $9,999 a month, which is $313 less than the 1,000,000 prospect tier at $10,312. On annual billing it is $79,992 a year against $82,496. So any sender who would otherwise buy the top metered tier gets unlimited volume for less.

The catch is what Unlimited leaves out. Woodpecker disables the built-in catch-all verification and the Lead Finder add-on on that plan, so a sender at that scale needs an outside verification and data source. For almost everyone reading this the point is academic. For a high-volume lead generation agency it is a real choice worth pricing both ways.

What do Woodpecker add-ons cost?

The base price covers sending, unlimited mailboxes and seats, warmup and verification. Everything that connects Woodpecker to other channels or systems is a separate monthly charge, and those add up faster than the plan itself for a small team.

Worked example from Woodpecker's own pricing file: 20,000 contacted prospects ($329) plus LinkedIn on three accounts ($87) plus integrations and API ($20) comes to $436 a month before tax. For a solo founder, the same logic means the $35 tier becomes $55 the moment you need a CRM sync through the API add-on.

LinkedIn automation: $29 a month per connected LinkedIn account, up to 20

Integrations, API, webhooks, MCP server and CLI: $20 a month flat, one switch for all of them

Extra warmups: $5 a month per email account beyond the tier allowance

Mailboxes: $6 a month for Google or Microsoft addresses, $4 for Maildoso, Mailforge or Infraforge

Domains: about $1 a month per new domain, $1 to connect your own, billed annually

Dedicated servers: $59 a month per Infraforge server

Lead Finder credits: from $10 for 500 credits, about $0.02 each, with bonus credits on larger packs

Woodpecker pricing for agencies

Agencies pay for the Agency Panel by active client: $27 a month per client, up to ten, plus $5 per client for white label. Woodpecker's own agency example is 100,000 contacted prospects ($1,354) with five active clients ($135) and white label ($25), or $1,514 a month. The panel adds per-client separation, centralized billing and view-only client access.

Because the meter is prospects rather than seats, an agency can give every client and every account manager a login at no extra cost. The thing to watch is the campaign counting rule: an agency that runs one campaign per client offer will count shared prospects more than once. Price the tier on prospects per campaign, not on the size of each client list.

Is Woodpecker cheaper than Smartlead, Instantly or Lemlist?

At very low volume, often yes. A founder contacting 500 people a month pays $35 on Woodpecker (about $23 on annual billing), against Smartlead Base at $39 and Lemlist Email at $69. Woodpecker also includes unlimited seats and verification on that tier, which Smartlead and Lemlist price differently.

In the middle the picture changes. A team contacting 10,000 people a month pays $188 on Woodpecker monthly, while Smartlead Pro at $94 covers 30,000 stored contacts and 90,000 emails. Flat-rate senders win when you send to many people a few times; Woodpecker wins when volume is small or uneven and you want to pay only for what you send. Our Smartlead pricing and Lemlist pricing pages carry the per-plan detail for those two, and Woodpecker alternatives compares the tools feature by feature.

What the Woodpecker price does not do for you

Woodpecker sends well. Its AI email writer and spintax help vary the wording, but the opener is still built from the fields in your list. Nothing on the plan reads each prospect's company before writing, so a campaign to 2,000 people at $67 a month is 2,000 versions of the same template.

That is the gap ColdOutreach fills. Starter is $49 a month, or $24 a month billed yearly, for 1,000 researched emails: you upload a CSV, it reads each company's site and public signals, writes a first line and angle for that person, and runs a follow-up sequence that stops on reply. Growth covers 5,000 a month at $99 ($49 yearly). Try the composer at the top of this page on one real prospect, then compare it with what your current Woodpecker template sends, or see every plan on our pricing page.

Common questions

The questions buyers actually ask before they switch.

How much does Woodpecker cost per month?

Woodpecker costs $35 a month for 500 contacted prospects on monthly billing, $67 for 2,000, $99 for 4,000 and $188 for 10,000. Annual billing costs roughly eight times the monthly price, so the 500 tier is $280 a year. The price depends only on how many prospects you contact each month. Read at woodpecker.co on October 7, 2026.

Does Woodpecker have a free plan?

No. Woodpecker offers a free trial instead: 14 days or 100 sent emails, whichever comes first, with all features and no credit card. The trial can be extended through in-app chat, and you keep access to the account after it ends, but sending requires a paid tier.

Is Woodpecker priced per user?

No. Every Woodpecker plan includes unlimited team members and unlimited email accounts. The only meter is contacted prospects per month. Add-ons such as LinkedIn automation are priced per connected LinkedIn account, and the agency panel per active client, but adding a teammate never changes the bill.

Does Woodpecker include email warmup and verification?

Yes. Each tier includes a set number of free warmups, from 2 at the 500 prospect tier to 40 at 20,000, with extra warmups at $5 a month per email account. Catch-all email verification is free and unlimited on every metered plan. Both are switched off on the flat Unlimited plan.

What happens when I hit my Woodpecker prospect limit?

Campaigns stop sending to new prospects until your next billing date or until you move to a higher tier. Woodpecker does not upgrade you automatically. Follow-ups to prospects you already contacted that month continue, so existing conversations are not cut off.

Is Woodpecker worth it for a small team?

For a small team with a short, steady list, yes. At $35 a month, or about $23 billed yearly, for 500 prospects with unlimited seats, verification and warmup included, it is one of the cheapest ways to send properly. It gets expensive relative to flat-rate senders once you contact more than about 4,000 people a month, where Smartlead Pro at $94 already covers 30,000 contacts, or reuse prospects across campaigns.

Is there a Woodpecker alternative that writes each email from research?

ColdOutreach researches every prospect's company and public signals before writing the first line and angle, then runs a follow-up sequence that stops on reply. Starter is $49 a month or $24 billed yearly for 1,000 researched emails. It suits teams whose problem is reply rate rather than send volume.
