Outreach alternative for teams that want pipeline, not a six-week rollout

Outreach (formerly outreach.io) sells sales execution to orgs with a RevOps team, priced by quote and committed by the year. Coldoutreach sells the outbound itself: AI research per prospect, sequences that write themselves, published pricing from $39 per month.

In one answer  Coldoutreach is an Outreach alternative for teams that want cold outreach without an enterprise rollout. Outreach is a quote-based sales execution platform built for large orgs, with annual contracts and third-party estimates around $100 to $160 per user per month. Coldoutreach publishes its pricing from $39 per month, researches each prospect with AI before writing, includes warmup on every plan, and is running the same day you sign up.

What Outreach is genuinely built for

Outreach is not a cold email tool that got expensive. It is a sales execution platform, and the distinction is the whole comparison. Its product is governance: sequence templates a RevOps team controls centrally, testing at org scale, conversation intelligence, forecasting, deal management, and admin controls that survive a procurement and security review. Its plans are named Amplify Core, Plus and Pro, and its 2026 model layers consumption-based AI credits (25,000, 50,000 and 100,000 by tier) on top of per-seat access.

If you run fifty reps and your problem is that every one of them sells differently, Outreach solves that. Nothing on this page argues otherwise, and no self-serve tool including ours is a substitute for it. Its integrations reach across the entire revenue stack, and for a company standardizing how an org sells, that depth is the point.

Worth knowing if you are researching them: the company now operates at outreach.ai, and the outreach.io address you probably have bookmarked redirects there. Older comparison articles that still call it outreach.io are a decent signal of how recently they were checked.

The mismatch: you wanted outbound and bought an implementation

The teams that end up looking for an Outreach alternative are rarely unhappy with the software. They are unhappy with the shape of the purchase. Outreach publishes no prices, so every deal starts with a form, a discovery call and a quote. Third-party trackers put most buyers somewhere around $100 to $160 per user per month, and we cite that as an estimate rather than a fact, because Outreach has never confirmed it. Our Outreach.io pricing page breaks down the reported per-seat ranges and the platform and implementation fees that sit on top. Contracts are annual. Implementation is measured in weeks, not hours.

For a fifty-rep org, that is a rounding error against the value of standardizing the team. For an eight-person startup that just wants to book meetings next month, it is a way to spend a quarter of the year buying software instead of selling. The governance you are paying for assumes a team large enough to need governing.

There is also a category gap that surprises people. The problems that actually decide whether cold outreach works at small scale (warming a new domain, ramping sends without tripping filters, keeping a single sending reputation clean) are not what an execution platform is designed around. It assumes you already have deliverable email infrastructure and a mature motion. If you do not, the platform will faithfully execute a process that lands in spam.

What Coldoutreach does instead

We took the opposite bet. Rather than giving a large team the rails to run a process it already has, we do the work the process is made of. The AI reads each prospect's website, LinkedIn and recent company news, finds a specific angle for that company, and drafts the email and LinkedIn sequence around it. Your rep edits and approves rather than researching from scratch. That is the hour per prospect the platform never gave back.

Deliverability is opinionated rather than assumed. Every plan from $39 per month includes the email warm up tool, a 30-day ramp for new domains, per-domain throttles, spam placement monitoring, and authentication checks that refuse to start a sequence on a domain missing SPF, DKIM or DMARC. Those are guardrails, not upsells, because a tool that lets you burn your domain on the entry plan was never actually cheaper.

And the pricing is on the pricing page. Starter is $39 per month for 1,000 AI-personalized emails, Growth is $79 for 5,000, Scale is $199 for 25,000, and there is no seat minimum and no annual lock. If you want to know what it costs, you read it. See plans or how it works for the full flow.

Where Outreach still wins, and you should buy it

We would rather tell you this now than sell you the wrong tool. Buy Outreach if you have a RevOps function and need central control over how dozens of reps sequence, or if forecasting and deal management need to live in the same system as the outreach. Buy it if conversation intelligence across recorded calls is part of how you coach. Buy it if your procurement process needs an enterprise security posture and a named CSM, or if Salesforce is the center of your universe and the integration depth has to be total.

We do not do those things. There is no dialer, no forecasting module, no call recording, and no contact database, so you bring a permission-based list. Our sales engagement platform page is honest about where our ceiling sits for larger teams.

The buyer we are right for is different: an SDR team, a founder doing founder-led sales, or an agency, where the expensive constraint is the research and writing rather than the coordination. If you also considered its closest peer, our Salesloft alternative page covers that comparison, and the full field is on our best cold email software roundup.

Switching from Outreach without losing momentum

The mechanics are easier than the contract. Export your prospects and sequences from Outreach as CSV, import the lists into Coldoutreach, and connect the mailboxes you actually intend to keep sending from. Do not bring the burned ones over: a damaged sending reputation follows the domain rather than the tool, and no new platform repairs it faster than low volume and time do.

Leave the sequences behind too, or at least do not port them verbatim. They were written to be executed at volume by fifty reps, which means they were written generically on purpose. Run the research pass over your existing list instead and let it rebuild the angle per prospect. Then send fewer: 30 to 50 a day per mailbox while the ramp does its work, which our guide to cold email volume explains.

Time the move around your renewal. This is the one part worth planning, since annual contracts mean the switch cost is mostly calendar, not effort. Teams coming off a platform are usually surprised that cutting sends by 80 percent does not cut replies, because the replies were never coming from the volume.

Common questions

The questions buyers actually ask before they switch.

What is the best Outreach.io alternative?

It depends on what you want to replace. If you need the forecasting, call recording and org governance, the honest answer is Salesloft rather than any cold email tool. If what you actually wanted was outbound that works without an enterprise rollout, Coldoutreach is the alternative: AI research per prospect, warmup included, published pricing from $39 per month, no annual contract.

How much does Outreach.io cost?

Outreach does not publish pricing. Its Amplify Core, Plus and Pro plans are quote-based with annual contracts, and 2026 pricing adds consumption-based AI credits (25,000 to 100,000 by tier) on top of per-seat access. Third-party trackers estimate most buyers pay roughly $100 to $160 per user per month, but that is an estimate rather than a confirmed figure.

Is Coldoutreach cheaper than Outreach?

Almost certainly, though nobody can say by exactly how much because Outreach publishes no prices. Coldoutreach is $39 per month for Starter, $79 for Growth and $199 for Scale, billed monthly with no seat minimum. The comparison is not purely price though: Outreach includes forecasting, deal management and call intelligence that we do not build.

Why did outreach.io become outreach.ai?

Outreach moved its site to outreach.ai, and the old outreach.io domain now 301-redirects there. The rebrand tracks the 2026 product direction, where AI credits and agent features sit at the center of the Amplify tiers. Both addresses reach the same company, so bookmarks and older articles referencing outreach.io still work.

Can I import my Outreach sequences and prospects?

Yes. Export your prospects as CSV and import them into Coldoutreach, then connect the mailboxes you want to keep. We would suggest not porting the sequences verbatim: platform sequences are written generically so fifty reps can run them, and the research pass will rebuild a specific angle per prospect from your existing list instead.

Is Outreach worth it for a small team?

Usually not. Outreach earns its price by standardizing how dozens of reps sell, so most of what you pay for is governance, and a team of five has nothing to govern. Below roughly 20 reps, the annual commitment and multi-week implementation buy capability you will not use. Above it, with a RevOps function, the calculation flips.
